Have you heard of Thanksgiving Blessings Mix? It's a yummy trail mix where each of the ingredients represents a different "blessing" Today I am going to be sharing the recipe as well as what each ingredient represents, and showing you all of the adorable printable items I have come up with as a way to give out this yummy treat to friends, family and neighbors for Thanksgiving. The mix looks beautiful, full of color and festive Fall flair! So let's get to it!
Recipe:
Bugles
small pretzels (traditional shape)
candy corn
dried fruit or raisins
peanuts and or seeds
M & M's
Hershey Kisses
Much like a fruit salad there are no real measurements needed for this, I bought a bag of everything and threw it all into a huge bowl and mixed it up! For my peanuts I used honey roasted because I like those better, and I ended up just buying a mixed bag of dried fruits and seeds and tossed that in with everything as well! So feel free to mix it up a bit, add extra of your favorite items, it looks so pretty all mixed up and makes and excellent gift!
Here is the poem that goes along with the recipe. This poem is included on all the printables I have created, so your recipient knows what all the different items symbolize.
Bugles: Shaped like a cornucopia or Horn of Plenty, a symbol of our nation's abundance.
Pretzels: Arms folded in prayer, a freedom sought by those who founded our country.
Candy corn: Sacrifices of the Pilgrims' first winter. Food was so scarce that settlers survived on just a few kernels of corn a day.
Nuts and seeds: Promise of a a future harvest, one we will reap only if seeds are planted and tended with diligence.
Dried fruits: Harvest gifts of our bountiful land.
M&Ms: Memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future.
Hersheys Kisses: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
